In this lesson, we used the black and white and color sketches from the previous lesson to make paper cutting and used these colorful collages to find some inspiration for clothing. I cut the parts that I like into different shapes, then I pasted it on the characters in the magazine to make a collage. After that I folded the copy paper under the white paper and colored it with a painting brush. This process was very interesting, because my sketches have many different colors, so every collage presents a different effect, and this method can also help me improve my color matching skills.
In this class, I learned and played happily. The atmosphere of the class was really relaxed, and everyone was working hard to finish their paintings. The teacher kept giving us useful suggestions and often encouraged us not to worry too much about whether the paintings were good or not.
I enjoy drawing on paper. Painting is a wonderful thing. Hand-drawing skill is a very important part in the design process. Sometimes I want to convert my clothing collage into clothes line drawing, but I found it difficult to draw clothes more three-dimensional, which fails to meet my expectations. Therefore, I will practice hand-drawing more in the following days!
